About your Butcher


Six Acre Meat Company is the result of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge in the field of butchery, the dedication to real food, and the dream of a life connected with nature.

Owner, James Erickson, grew up in the city of Burnaby, where he had worked his way through the food and beverage industry on various levels, working restaurants, bars, and meat shops. After his time as a Butcher throughout Vancouver, he took the plunge to a higher degree of knowledge the city could not offer, and left British Columbia to study at the National Meat Training Center in Olds, Alberta.



Upon completing his studies he returned home to the Sunshine Coast of BC and began establishing Six Acre Farm. Working with farmers to develop on farm slaughter programs, and mentoring butchers and hunters alike in meat cutting, James set down roots in the small coastal town. Together with his wife Kalee, the pair continued their pursuit of food and farming, and sharing with the community they’ve built over the years. Creating the foundations for Six Acre Meat Co.
